Short Curriculum Vitae
Lei Dong was born in Xinxiang, China in 1979. He received his bachelor’s degree in Applied Electronics from Shanxi University in 2002 and received his PhD degree in Optics from Shanxi University in 2007. Currently he works as Full Professor of Applied Optics at Shanxi University, China. The main scientific activities of Prof. Lei Dong has been related to advanced photonic technologies for applications to environmental sensing, industrial surveillance, agricultural monitoring and medical diagnostics. More recently his research interests focus on novel photoacoustic and photo-thermal spectroscopy, especially in the application of quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy(QEPAS) to trace gas detection. He was a post doctor in Rice University, USA from 2008-2011 and a visiting researcher in 2015. His research activity is documented by more than 200 publications,more than 4000 citations (h-index 38) and fifteen filed patents. In 2016, he won “Outstanding Youth Science Foundation” of China and “Top Young and Middle-aged Innovative Talents Support Plan of Shanxi”, and in 2017 he was selected into “Sanjin Scholars Program” of Shanxi Province.
