The PolySense team has just published a new article on Optics Express reporting on the realization of a novel grooved quartz tuning fork detector for Quartz-enhanced photoacoustic sensing. Rectangular grooves were carved on each prong surface of the QTF to reduce the electrical resistance and enhance the piezoelectric effect without affecting the resonance frequency and related Q-factor.
